Refund policy

Last updated: October 19, 2026.

This policy applies to every product ordered from beamford.com for delivery in the United States. Beamford is operated by Black Shores LLC, a Michigan limited liability company. For any problem with an order, email support@beamford.com. Please contact us, not the manufacturer or the carrier.

Summary

  • Free returns within 90 days of delivery on items that haven't been installed or used. Changed your mind? If a hardwired fixture hasn't been installed, or a plug-in light hasn't been mounted or used beyond a brief check that it works, you can ask to return it within 90 days of delivery. We send you a prepaid return label and refund the price you paid for it, plus tax. There is no restocking fee, return-shipping charge or other deduction.
  • Installed or used items. Once a product has been installed, or a plug-in light has been mounted or used beyond a brief check, it can't be returned because you changed your mind. This never affects the problems below.
  • Damaged, defective, wrong or not as described: covered by our 90-Day Limited Warranty, even after installation or use. If a product arrives damaged, doesn't work, develops a defect in materials or workmanship, is the wrong item, is missing parts, has a different voltage rating from its product page or your order, or doesn't match its description, contact us within 90 days of delivery. We will replace it or, if you prefer, refund it.
  • Contact us first. Email support@beamford.com before sending anything back. We send you instructions, the return address and a prepaid label.

Returns if you change your mind

You can return any product that hasn't been installed or used, for any reason, if you ask within 90 days after it was delivered. The delivery date is the one shown by the carrier's tracking. This applies to every product, including items bought on sale or with a discount.

A hardwired fixture counts as uninstalled if it has not been mounted or wired: its wire leads are as supplied, not cut, shortened, re-stripped or connected; all of its mounting hardware and parts are unused and included; and it has no paint, plaster or drywall residue on it.

A plug-in light, such as a desk lamp or a plug-in wall light, counts as unused if it hasn't been used beyond a brief check that it works and hasn't been mounted, meaning fixed to or hung on a wall, ceiling or other surface with screws, hooks, anchors or adhesive. For that check you can set it up, clamp a clamp lamp to a desk, and plug it in and switch it on, with a bulb of your own if it needs one. Its cord and plug should be as supplied, not cut, spliced or rewired, and any mounting hardware unused and included.

Either way, the product should be clean and complete, with no damage beyond any it arrived with. You're welcome to open the box and check the product, and we encourage you to do that before it is installed or mounted.

To return a product:

  1. Email support@beamford.com with your order number, the item you want to return, and photos of the product and its parts, including the wire leads of a hardwired fixture or the cord and plug of a plug-in light.
  2. We reply with instructions, the return address and a prepaid return label.
  3. Pack the product with all its parts, in its original packaging if you still have it, or in sturdy packaging that protects it as well. Send it with our label within 14 days after we email the label. If you need more time, email us before then.

Returns are free. There is no restocking fee, no charge for the return label and no deduction for delivery, which is included in our prices. If a return we sent you a label for is damaged on its way back to us, that is our risk, not yours, as long as it was packed securely.

When your return reaches us, we check it and refund the price you paid for the item, plus the tax you paid on it, within 7 days. If a returned product turns out to have been installed, mounted or used beyond a brief check, or arrives with parts missing or with damage caused after delivery (other than on its way back to us), we will email you photos and either refund it or send it back to you at our cost.

Once a product has been installed, or a plug-in light has been mounted or used beyond a brief check, it can't be returned because you changed your mind. This covers a product that was correctly described and correctly supplied but that you no longer want after installation or use, or that doesn't suit your room, mounting or electrical supply once installed or used. Please check the size, finish, voltage rating and any plug type of the option you choose before you order, and again before you install or use it.

If you'd like a different finish or option, return the item you have and place a new order.

Damaged, defective, wrong or missing items

These problems are covered by our 90-Day Limited Warranty, whether or not the product has been installed or used. Contact us within 90 days after the affected item is delivered if:

  • it arrived damaged;
  • it doesn't work when it arrives, or develops a defect in materials or workmanship;
  • it is rated for a voltage different from the one stated on its product page or in your order, including when we send the wrong voltage option;
  • you received the wrong product, color, size or option;
  • an item, part or accessory shown as included is missing; or
  • it otherwise doesn't match its product page.

This applies to every product, including items bought on sale or with a discount. Installing or using a product does not give up these rights.

We will replace the affected product or, if you prefer, refund it. If we can't supply a replacement within a reasonable time, we refund it. A refund covers the price you paid for the affected item, plus the tax you paid on it. The warranty explains what is covered and how to make a claim. You can read it before you buy, and you can ask us for a free copy at any time.

If a problem only shows up more than 90 days after delivery, still email us. The 90-day periods in this policy and in our warranty don't end any right you have under the law (see "Your statutory rights").

How to report a problem

Email support@beamford.com with:

  • your order number (this is your proof of purchase; you don't need a receipt);
  • a short description of the problem; and
  • photos that show it, plus a short video if a photo can't. For damage in transit, include the outer box and the shipping label if you still have them.

Keep the product, and any packaging and shipping label you still have, until we confirm the outcome. If the product has been installed and the packaging is gone, you are still covered. Don't send anything back unless we ask. If we need the product back, we will email you instructions, the address to send it to and a prepaid return label before you send it. You pay nothing to return a product we ask for.

Installation and electrical ratings

Hardwired fixtures must be installed by a qualified electrician in line with local electrical code. Plug-in products must be used only with the plug type and electrical supply shown on their product page.

Ratings vary by product and by option. Check the voltage and other ratings on the product page before you order and before installation or use. A product rated only for 220–240 V (including one rated 220 V or 230 V) must not be connected directly to a standard 120 V lighting circuit or plugged into a standard 120 V outlet. Before you order a hardwired fixture, have your electrician confirm that it suits your electrical supply, mounting box and local code, and whether any conversion equipment is needed. Don't assume a converter makes a product compatible.

We don't cover:

  • electrician labor, permits or inspection fees, or repairs to ceilings, walls or fixture boxes;
  • damage caused by incorrect wiring or reversed connections;
  • damage caused by connecting a product to a supply outside its stated voltage, frequency or other electrical ratings, including through incompatible conversion equipment;
  • damage caused by mounting a product to a junction box that is not rated for its weight or for the installation;
  • damage caused by modifying a product, or by installation that doesn't follow the included instructions or applicable electrical code.

This does not apply when the product itself is at fault. If a product arrives damaged, is defective, is missing parts, doesn't match its description, or is rated for a voltage different from the one stated on its product page, this policy and our warranty apply in full, whether or not the product has been installed. The exclusions above don't apply to those problems. If the fault caused you other costs, such as an electrician's fee to remove a faulty fixture, tell us. Your rights under the law to recover them are not affected. Sending a voltage option different from the one you ordered is our error and is covered.

Our 90-Day Limited Warranty sets out the same exclusions. Some States do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.

Lost parcels

Items in one order may arrive in separate parcels. Our Shipping policy explains delivery and tracking.

We treat a parcel as lost when its tracking has not updated for 30 days, or sooner if the carrier confirms it is lost. Contact us, and we will send a replacement or, if you prefer, refund what you paid for it, including tax, to your original payment method.

If tracking shows a parcel as delivered but you can't find it, email us within 14 days of the delivery date, so the carrier can still investigate. We will ask the carrier to investigate and tell you the result. If the carrier finds the parcel was delivered to a different address, we will send a replacement or, if you prefer, refund it.

Cancellations

If you need to cancel, email support@beamford.com with your order number straight away. If our supplier hasn't shipped your order yet, we'll ask them to cancel it, and if they can, we'll refund you in full. We can't guarantee a cancellation, because orders go to our supplier quickly. Once an order has shipped, it can't be cancelled, and this policy applies.

If we can't ship your order within the time stated in our Shipping policy, we will email you before that time runs out. You can then choose to wait or to cancel for a full refund. Our Shipping policy explains the details.

Refunds

Refunds go to your original payment method. For a return, we issue the refund within 7 days after the item reaches us. For a cancelled order, we issue it within 7 days after the cancellation. For any other refund, we issue it within 7 days after we approve it. Your bank or card issuer decides when it appears on your statement.

If a refund can't be made to your original payment method, for example because the card account has closed or the payment is too old for a card refund, we will refund you another way, such as a bank transfer or a check, at no cost to you.

Your statutory rights

Nothing in this policy limits or modifies any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, any remedy you have for breach of those warranties, or any other right you have under the consumer-protection, warranty or product-safety laws of your state or of the United States. Our 90-Day Limited Warranty is in addition to those rights. Where those laws give you more than this policy does, those laws apply. You are entitled to a written copy of this policy on request from support@beamford.com.
